Hah! Bet you think I forgot you!

…but I didn’t. I’m just lazy. However, I thought I’d come and do a mini-life-update post, which I like to do from time to time.

Blogging… I’ve been blogging pretty faithfully on frugal underground and it’s local twin, Boise on the Cheap. This has lead me to decide that my true calling (for at least a year!) is pro blogging. It remains to be seen whether this is actually viable, but it’s looking promising. As of this week, I’m officially a network blogger! I’m a fine fool. I’m going to be contributing to Chef Vault and starting a new blog there, which I’ll announce when it’s final. I’ve also just (quasi-) launched Blogging Expertise this week.

Webdev… I’ve been working with some great east coast companies, and courting a few clients locally. I actually just got a referral from my dental hygenist, of all people (she asked for my card during our pre-exam chit chat). My most exciting project right now, though, is the website I’m planning on doing about a rental property in Mexico. That’s exciting because I actually will be going to said rental property to get started! Yee haw! Oh, yeah, and I quit the library to do webdev and blogging full time.

Church… the Experience is doing a 12-week workshop on marital intimacy which is supposed to be truly remarkable. We’re a couple of weeks in and already it’s changing lives. On a completely different note, I was excited to find LibraryThing. I’m using it to organize the church library. I have this vision of it one day actually being useful to people. (In the meantime, it’s a good excuse to order books that aren’t at the public library!)

Home… we’re experiencing the dance (dance) revolution. And the spinning revolution (haha… spinning… revolution). The plan is to do at least four local century charity rides + the MS150 next summer so I mostly see Daniel while we’re exercising. :)

Hope you’ve enjoyed this mini-update; now we will have the question and answer period.

  1. Hello from the LibraryThing developer. (Thanks for blogging it!) Best luck with your web development business. Drop me a line if you ever want to talk about the intersection of webdev and libraries. Do you program too?

  2. Hi, Tim, thanks for stopping by. I do program, too, mostly the web variety, though. I am pretty much always interested in talking about the webdev-library intersection (I spent most of my time at the public library programming apps for their use). Out of curiosity, are you planning on making an API available for LibraryThing? I’ve been thinking about how to best print spine labels for the books I’ve entered.
